I suppose my rather wordy sidebar tells it all, but if you’re here and curious about me, well…I suppose there’s more I could say.

Ideally, this page would say MK is a successful author of Christian fiction, with several titles available and more than a million books sold.  She lives with her husband and their five children on a 20-acre hobby farm in southern Minnesota.  When she isn’t writing, MK enjoys gardening, tending livestock, reading, cooking, and (feeble attempts at) crafting.

Because even in my ideal world, I still cannot manage to be that crafty.

In all seriousness, I am a twenty-something mother of one (Pookie) and happy wife of a professor-to-be.  I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 2005 and was utterly changed.  In November I took on NaNoWriMo and “won” by writing 50,000 words that month; now, I am editing the finished manuscript and hope to self-publish it this fall.

After growing up on a dairy farm in southern Minnesota, I wanted out desperately…now all I want is to get back.  But graduate school makes us city dwellers for the next three (or four or five…) years in a different state, so I occupy myself with other things…like reading craft blogs.  I so want to be the crafty-type, but I don’t have the eye for it and our living-on-a-graduate-stipend-and-ramen-noodles budget simply doesn’t allow for too much crafting, so mostly I just look.

My reading life is eclectic and full of fits and starts.  Some of my favorite genres are Amish romances, general Christian fiction, historical fiction, historical Christian fiction, homeschooling books, educational theory, biography, classics, the occasional thriller, and I’m also reading more children’s lit these days (I wonder why…).

I’m also a stickler for grammar, so watch it in the comments.

I’m only sort of kidding about the grammar part; I would love to hear your take in the comments section, or feel free to email me personally at mkjorgenson {at} gmail {dot} com.
